The same engine in fiat, but multijet.

Im taking about the 1.9 CDTI 8v. Now in the vectra there 120 bhp standard, the same unit in the fiat punto multijet is 130bhp standard and the only difference i can find are the different injectors. The have 4 holes to spay the fuel mix into the cylinder more evenly.

Now most of the Fiats rolling roaded standard are coming up at 140+ bhp and can be tuned with a map and decat to see near enough 200bhp.

Do you think the injectors will work in the vectra out the fiat as the heads the same but is the programming on the Ecu different?

Programmed differently i'd imagine, as Vaux use different ECU's to Fiat. Correct me if i'm wrong though

if you change the injectoer they will need to be Tech2'd

the progaramme may be different but the computer language and the ratios used will be the same for both engines. Sounds like an interesting and worth while mod- dependind on cost obviously.
I've heard of 8v 120 vecs being mapper to 170ish so the injectors must make a huge difference if the get you another 30 horses!!!
