    Default 3.2 Owner, now 2.8 V6Turbo

Hi all, I joined a while back and asked for the forums advice, do I repair my 3.2 gearbox problem or not? Anyway, due to all the advice that I received (not!), I have decided to buy a 2.8 turbo and cut my losses! If anyone fancies a 41,000 immaculate beast, minus gearbox, please let me know.....?

Welcome on, pics when you can. I'd just replace the gearbox but if you have a trusted local firm to rebuild it could try that. Worked vx for 9 1/2 years never rebuilt a box because of the surcharges they wont let them get striped down

Hi Matt, decided to cut my losses mainly due to my new purchase! Gutted, i honestly thought I had got a car for the long term when I got it! You think, low miles, big engine, bullet proof, no more clues! I maybe should have done my research eh? What did you mean by surcharges? Did VX know of this fault? Cheers buddy.

No mate surcharges are put on items where vx want it back such as Alternator and gearbox cause if vx replace the guts of it its cheaper then a whole unit being built from scratch. No known fault with that gearbox normaly just on of those things

About to have my gearbox rebuilt, £1000. Admittedly only from my 2.2 but imagine it would be similar for you?
