Default 56 plate vectra 1.8 with 110k, owt to worry about?

I might buy a vec with this milage on, but would you be worried or not bother, its only got part service history with cam belt and water pump just done, with reciepts for that. It drives well and sounds ok. Will it be ok to take a gamble you think? Plenty life left in the engine? Its only 2200 for a sri nav.

Use your common sense when looking and you shouldn't go far wrong. The general consensus is that the VVT is the most reliable engine in a Vectra, but it is high mileage. How many miles are you looking to put on it?

At that mileage and year it must have alot of motorway miles, thats a good thing. It's about right on the money too, so why not go for it if it looks right and drives well, just keep it regularly serviced, particularly oil changes. Don't forget to look for the signs of collision damage.

Check the handbook / service book, to see when the cambelt interval is, and if this was within specification or overdue

As with all high mileage, expect wear and tear items to fail with little or no warning
Examine the front and rear, shocks and springs, see if they look original or are replacements
Examine the brake and clutch pedal rubbers, are they worn or replacements

Purchase Pollen Filter and Air Filter
Examine the current fitted ones, if they are in good condition keep them, otherwise replace
If you do have to replace them, then also consider Oil, Oil Filter, and Fuel Filter
The Pollen Filter should be replaced every year anyway
