Air filter fixing
I have a generic induction air filter that I've jubilee clipped onto my air flow sensor and I will be playing aeround with some hose to try get a cold air feed to it. How have people fixed their filters in place as mine just kind of sits there where the oe filter house used to be and rattles around a bit? Any pics of how people have fixed theirs in place would be great.
Has nobody come up with an ingenius way of fixing their air filter? Does everyone just leave them flapping around?
on ym old b i tried a k&N 57i and just left that flapping about although it didnt really.
i think most people on here use panel filters tbh.
no doubt now there will be a flood of posts from people with induction kits!
Cable ties? Can be used to tie almost anything down or up or to the side!

You can then Jubilee clip to the Filter and bolt to the body work.
Has it got a housing, or are you letting it breath from the engine bay? It'll make a mean noise though with it being open..

It ismpositioned fairly close to the standard air inlet so has some cold ish air getting to it. To be fair if I wanted performance I've got the wrong engine!
Fair enough I suppose, but my point being is that you might actually decrease performance with warm engine bay air, however there will be more air entering the engine with less resistance, so it might offset. Nice shiny alli pipework would really help
Anyhow, back onto the fixing. I used to use cable ties but it's a bit "barry".
A bracket that you can fasten between the jubilee clips and the filter would be your best bet... If it's light metal you bend it to suit the contours.

I was thinking of getting some thin sheet metal and like you say bending something to suit and then a combination of jubilee clips, rivets or bolts to hold it on. I was a fitter in a past life so if I can get my hands on some material it shouldn't be too much of a problem to do! Getting some ducting to exactly the right place that looks good can be difficult though! Although drain pipe is exactly the right diameter for the inlet of my filter so I might bodge something out of that and then try and make it look nice!
I had simota induction kit on my Astra an bracket came with.
But will give you an idea of what to make.
It just bolted to slam panel and secured to filter with a jubilee clip
