Default Will it fail an MOT?

Quick question for anyone in the know.

I suspect an intermittant dodgy EGR valve in my 150 CDTi. So, if I disconnect the electrical connector and run it as a trial and; I were to put it in for an MOT with the connector disconnected, would it fail the MOT because the eml and spanner light would be illuminated?

If it does not matter a jot for the MOT then I may leave it disconnected period.

    thanks

Just had a look at the 2012 rules, it does not mention emissions lights. It does mention for example ABS light, Stability control light, Airbag Light.

    Anyone else with a view?

I've been studying the manual too because I have an engine management light (for glowplugs) at the moment.

Some people say that ANY warning light will be a fail, but the manual only mentions checking for warning lights in relation to ABS, power steering, seatbelts and airbags.
