    Default CDTi 150 - What mods if any should defo be done before a remap?

    You may of seen my other thread regarding mappers, currently talking to Viezu who actually seem pretty decent and respond well to queries etc, so may get them to do it but not decided yet.

    Anyway, my car is completely standard at the moment, but I don't have loads of money so I thought the remap would be best bang for buck so to speak, but is there anything that should really be done before a remap to remove any bottlenecks type thing?

    I used to own an Astra Coupe Turbo with Z20LET engine and it was pretty widely known that the first thing to change was the precat as it was very restrictive etc, just wondering if there are any similar such things on these engines that I should look to do before re-mapping?

    Blank off the EGR and get it mapped out at the same time. Saves it getting caked up with soot along with the manifold and swirl valves...

    Yep, I've already asked for a quote based on the remap and mapping out and blanking of the EGR valve. Seen that is very much a given when you do go for a remap so that's already taken care of.

    Any other things that should be changed? Or that woudl make a significant difference to the remap type thing? Within reason of course, preferably not quite to pricey as swapping the turbo just yet! lol.

    a nice quality oil + filter change wouldnt go a miss just before a 30% torque increase, check the impeller on your turbo first too! If you've got any play in it now, a remap will speed up the death of your turbo.
