    Default Cruise control turns off

Was cruising down the motorway on way to center parcs this week. Set the cruise at 70 after about 10mins turns itself off and spanner light come on, wouldent let me put cruise back on until spanner light went off, plus when got off motorway the car felt very very slugish, very little power. Its a 2.0dti. Any thoughts before i brave the trip home tomorrow.

Spanner light will stop the cruise control and put the car in limp mode. Check all your hoses. One is likely to have a hole in it (if you find it just tape it up).

The most common thing is the contacts in the cruise control stalk itself which if you remove the stalk and clean up the contacts normally
Cures it but read the how to fella don't try and yank the stalk out

would that problem put the spanner light on and make it go in limp mode?

Well, as it's a DTi, there is a good chance it is something to do with the boost pressure or EGR.
The first step is to check the black hoses that feed air into the inlet manifold.
Getting the stored codes read would be usefull.
Lots of posts on here about DTi problems, plus there is a few posts in the How 2 section too.
