Default CDTI 150 couple of questions

    Hi
Have just got an '08 Vectra CDTI elite and have a couple of things i want to find out about.

Each of my last 3 cars (bmw 5 series) had climate control which when on auto you still only had the air con running when you pushed the button, the vectra has no aircon button so i am assuming the air con is only running when needed to cool the air to maintain the set temperature. (too lazy to look under the bonnet )

The last couple of mornings it has taken a long time to reach full temperature, I do about 5 mins until i reach a dual carriagway and then steady 65-70 for about 4-5 miles when it reads 86 degrees on the gauge, is this normal?

    Thanks
    Kev

Invest in some thick woolley socks and insulated gloves my friend!! Slow warm-up is normal on the CDTi, my car is just the same. It can take 10-15 mins before I get anything like heat. And on a cold winters morning, that feels like an eternity! Brrrrrr....

My SRI has the aircon button (snowflake) on the left above the re-circulation button.
My 150 CDTI starts blowing warm air after 2 miles.

Its an elite, has no snowflake button and is the first time i've had a car without one (with aircon or climate of course). I do get warm air through the vents before the gauge moves though so it could be the fact that it starts at 70 degrees though.

The climate control uses the air-con system permanently - it cools the air down then uses the heater matrix to reheat it back to whatever temperature is required. You should have an 'eco' button on the CC panel - this disables the AC pump clutch and stops the cooling side of the system working...

Sorry - I'm talking ******** mate. You need to go into the CC menus inside the display and select the A/C off. If you've got a CD70 fitted you simply press the large round button in the middle of the CC panel and should appear there. You also have the options for manually positioning the vents etc...
