    Angry power loss

    Hi all

Looking for solutions to my problem!!

Jumped in the car today, car started fine, pulled away and drove off down the road. No warning lights on but when I put my foot down in 2nd gear nothing happened - just flat like it was in limp mode. there is just no power there at all!!! Any possible solutions welcomed????

no fault codes appear on diagnostics...........

Vectra is a 2.2 SRi Direct 2006 on 62k miles

    Cheers

If you have lost power in a specific gear, then it is most likely a gearbox issue or it has not engaged

I get the same response throughout the gears. It is very sluggish then gradually picks up but does not reach full power

it appears the timing chain is slack and the tensioner is shot away. Now to check if any further damage has been done to valves!

Whats the point in putting a chain instead of a belt, when the tensioner can fail and do th same damage!!! Funnily enough the replacement tensioner is a modified version!!!!! Shouldnt this be a recall????
