1.9cdti 150bhp starting issue

hi guys
on my vectra 1.9cdti 150bhp it has just started struggling to start on first turn over. you crank it over first time and the starter just spins asin lack of fuel, so i turn off the ignition turn it back on crank it again and it fires straight away has anyone else had this issue im gonna start by changing the fuel filter but im wondering if it could be loosing fuel pressure when not running therefore having to prime fuel through to enable it to start what you guys recon?

Is it just when cold? Or warm? or both?

both mate already replaced the glowplugs :/

When you turn on the ignition (but not operate the starter), can you hear the HP fuel pump (behind you) spinning up?

Sounds like lack of fuel if just turning over but not starting, both hot and cold.

Also check the EGR and clean it. I'm sure I've heard that a sticking open EGR can cause starting issues (may be wrong though)

i just checked it i couldnt hear the hp pump but the radio ****** turn't on so will re-check that in the morning as for the ****** egr valve i hope it ent fooked again i only replaced it a year ago lol. i will keep checking bits and bobs cheers for your help mate.

No probs mate.

You should hear the pump quietly behind you for a few seconds when the ignition is first turned on
