    Default Quick Inlet manifold question !

    Could someone tell me from what date the revised inlet manifold with the improved swirl flaps was fitted to uk market CDTI's?

    Wow! That was a quick reply! Thanks for that, looking at a 57 plate to replace the Signum so hopefully that will be one less thing to worry about.

    So many on the good old CDTI one less will help. Why do I love this rattly old Engine enough to go for a second helping??

    Because when you take off the DPF, blank the EGR, map it out and then remap the engine to 190bhp, you've got a powerful and economical engine that will whip the pants off every other car in the range apart from the V6 petrols...

    Ah yes, knew there was a reason Penfold Its true though, I 'Boxed' mine at 8 months old with 6k on the clock which was five years ago now. Thrashed the ass off it and often left the oil in for 20k between changes

    Yet now with 85k on the clock it refuses to use any oil, starts on the button, and still pulls with gusto doing all the quaint whooshing and whistling that they do.

    the revised manifold isn't any better, you really need to blank & map out the egr

    To be honest I have had no problems with my Manifold, there is a little gunk around the pivots so it certainly is a bit worn but it still moves freely.
    I did however blank mine soon after I got it so I think that maybe proves that the exhaust carbon is the culprit.
    I just learned to ignore the emissions lamp!
