    Default DPF burst flexi...with diagram

I think this may explain why my flexi had burst! So i had better get the dpf sorted before the same happens again. Had a new flexi fitted last week.

    Does this make sense?

All the pressure must not be good for the whole engine i presume.

Im not too clued up on the technical stuff but thats what i think may have happened?

    Anyone agree?

Can flexi's be repaired with exhaust tape?

I see where the sense is coming from mate. But I don't think the back pressure would be enough to damage the flexi

If it was already damaged then the blocked dog would increase and gases would find their way out.

Try taking the dpf off and flushing it out front and back a few times to clear all the soot and ash.

Have you had a warning like to say dpf is full?

Diagnosis software can tell you how full the DPF is, and run a regen. I did mine before as it was showing 50% free. The engine ramped up to 3,500 revs for appx 8 minutes. Lot's of smoke for about 3 minutes. now 70% clear.
I doubt a DPF would cause a split unless it was near 100% blocked, and that's unlikely.
