    Default CDC70 Navi worth it?

Been looking for a satnav for the Vec. Was wondering if people would advise an aftermarket radio or a OEM one? Can you fit and AUX in to the cdc70?
    Any help would be great.

Only the much later build CD70 Navi headunits have Aux In either fitted or directly 'fitable'.... however, there is a chap somewhere who can retrofit the Aux In hardware for you. As long as the firmware is post Jul 2010 it has support for Aux In.

    The sat-nav is average tbh.

If you get up to date discs you loose things like TMS but if you want TMS you have to use 6 Year old map discs and then you loose postcode entry (IIRC)

I use it and it's OK. Best thing is it will redirect you to a petrol station when you get low on fuel - which is handy in a 2.8!

Personally, I've found that some of the routes it takes are a bit strange - i.e. roads i know to be much quicker my way as opposed to the way the sat-nav sends me. it's nicely integrated though and I wouldn't swap it for an aftermarket model but since you're changing anyway, it's a tough call. Note that I did do a full tour of the scottish highlands with it and it got me round but it got a bit confused on SKye and sent me down a looong, winding, hilly, single track road instead of the much easier dual carriageway!

Basically, if you want an OK system nicely integrated, go for it. If you're not bothered about integration - get an aftermarket unit.

    CDC70?

    What one of them?

Or do you mean the CD70?

Anyway, apart from not being able to enter a full post code, it's fine IMHO.

And the stereo part of it, you can play MP3s once you've burnt them to CDR or CDRW discs.

Both my previous 2005 and current 2010 map CDs allow postcode entry (well the first 5 digits anway)

Granted though, the newer discs that uses traffic master instead of TMS is poor.
