    Default help with radiator

had a nightmare of a day full loss of coolant down to a nasty leak in rad near the drain tap anyways car is home thanks to recovery

    just need some advise

    1. can the rad be taken out without the bumper being removed

    2. what size sockets and spanners are required

    3. what is the average price for a rad from the scrappys

I would suspect the bumper will need to come off to help with access to stuff, but that's an easy enough job and covered in the how too's. Unsure of sockets needed but suspect all standard, maybe some torx bits needed, cheap enough sets at B &Q. As for getting a rad from a scrapper,,,,, DON'T it really isnt worth the hassle, plenty of good value new ones on ebay or from your local motor factor.

No you dont need bumper off, my mechanic managed without takin it off anyway although he had up on a ramp so was easier. And as already sed, dont buy a rad from a scrappers it will prob already have corrosion etc... they are only £80 new for a valeo one! Cost me 100 quid fitted, completely drained and new coolant.

If the leak isn't that bad, just shove some radweld in it to see if it'll plug the leak until you can get something more permanent sorted out.
