Default How cold is your air con?

I am wondering if mine needs re-gassing? I bought the car in December and havent really had any need to use the air con yet.

Last week when it was warmer I turned it on, turned the heater control right down, but did not think the air coming out was chilled or colder then the outside temperature?

IN my previous cars, you can feel a "chilly" blast.

Any thoughts? Outside temperature was about 15-16 degrees.

It probably just needs a re-gas. Can make a huge difference

Previously owner was probably only using the air con occasionaly
The trick is to either use it all the time or at least 50% of journeys

Equally, the Pollen Filter may be saturated
That was what happened to mine, easy enough to replace

If you don't use your A/C very often during the winter months, run it up for at least 5 minutes a week. That will lube the seal and stir the gases around the system

Air con should be left on all year round, rarely will it go wrong and frequent re-charges will become a thing of the past. Never had a fault with aircon in a Vectra by applying that very principal simply because the unit is working constantly (apart from really cold weather when I believe the system will regulate its operation).

Like a dog, AC isn't just for Christmas. It's for all year round. Makes and excellent demister too if used in conjunction with the heater.
