Default My DPF is knackered! Help!

Well i got the fault codes on the car read after it had been stuck in limp mode for a while. Turns out its the DPF thats causing me problems, its total blocked up. Also the glow plugs are showing a fault, the car starts fine tho.

The garage guy suggested jet washing out the DPF pipe to clear it out a bit, but this might only give me a few months out of it.

I got a quote from MAS performance to blank and map out the EGR, remove the DPF and get a remap with a rolling road session all for £350 so that seems reasonable but i will have to save up and maybe wait till next month.

Whats the best short term fix guys? I hear some people knock out th internals but when i mentioned it to the mechanic who read the codes he thought that doing that was a bad idea?

Is there a seperate light for the DPF? I just have the normal fault light, the car with spanner.

Ah, my glow plug light is doing that! But it has only started doing it since this morning when it was hooked up to diagnostics at the garage. Think the bloke tried to clear the fault codes but they are back lol!

I work in kent mon to fri so i do plenty motorway miles too.

we had a car in with a blocked DPF this week. all the usual tricks failed to unblock it

the owner let us trial a DPF unblocker, from wurth i think

after a few attempts at regeneratiing, a LOT of smoke and soot and all is good and DPF unblocked

Just been out for lunch and had the car warmed up and drove about 30 miles, its still on. And in limp mode

I might go out again tho and give it a blast in 4th gear or something to keep the revs a bit higher and see if it regens.

Stupid idea having the blasted thing invented in the first place lol

Is that one of those aerosol things you spray in the intake?

Anythings worth a try if it might work! Is there a link to it?
