F1 2012 - Sky HD

Count down is on to the 2012 season, only 17 days till the first race of the year in Australia! Only seems a matter of a few weeks since the last race.

Cant say I am overly enthralled about it now being predominantly on Sky, but their website is looking pretty good:

And the F1 Sky HD channel launches on the 9th March. I think the coverage that Sky will provide will be pretty hot and not a moment lost if you are a die hard F1 fan. But, where i get the option ill be watching it live on BBC myself and Sky when its not.

Predictions for the 2012 season - with 6 former F1 Champions on the grid??

• Red Bull i think will have the edge
• McLaren will be pretty formidable this year - Hamilton has new fire in his belly (and his loins by the souds of it) and Jenson will be a conistant point scorer.
• Ferarri will struggle with the car, but Alonso will deliver some pretty amazing racing.
• I reckon one of the newer teams will really put some pressure on some of the more established teams and be competative. which one? No idea!!
• Tyres will be the major deciding factor of races this year - perhaps that is obvious though!!

cant wait,will have to watch it on SKY,just a pity BBC couldnt have kept Brundle,but then what with BBC only giving 2hrs for some of the races it looks like it will just be highlights if they keep all the info from practice,quali,driver/team/car news before the race

as for this seasons winner,think it will be redcows to beat again,second between mclaren & ferrari,big success i think will be mercedes

ferrari may have a brand 'new' car which will take time to understand & find the correct development path to get the most from it,but the RB8 is in the 3rd year of development so it may be comming to the end of its reign,things will get interesting when we get to europe were all the teams will have alot of upgrades to put on their cars

408 if I remember rightly. Noticed it pop up on mine the other day too.

Initially I had the right raving hump about it moving to Sky as I expected it to be additional cost as I don't have the other Sports channels (F1 is the only sport I watch) and I anticipated ad breaks returning to F1 which ruined the ITV coverage of it always, but I DO have the HD package and it's free for HD subscribers and they're promising it will be ad-free so reasonably happy bunny at the moment, as long as that doesn't change

ad free for the races they said so the build up will still have ads but that's not too bad.

i was hoping they would move manutd so it would be all 6 hd sports channels in a row then
