    Default Stuck in limp mode!

Ive just had the front flexi pipe on my cdti 150 replaced as it had a big burst in it and the car was in limp mode.
I was hoping the spanner light (car + spanner) would go away now but its still there. I just drove 200 miles this morning on the motorway to get back home from work and the car was still in limp all the way, mpg was down and so was power!

Also, the engine seems to be ticking / tapping louder than when i bought it 10k ago.

I've cleaned the egr and boost sensor about 2 weeks ago and as far as i can see all the boost hoses are ok, even the little ones at the front of engine.

Any ideas what it coulod be?

Anyone near lincoln / coningsby with a tech 2?

Id rather sort it myself if its nothing major.

CDTI 150 is belt driven. Getting the codes read would be helpful.

If you need a garage, Vauxcare on the Allenby industrial estate are very good, and reasonably cheap.

Nice one gibbon! I will give them a look! They might have a better idea of whats going on rather than my local garage (who wanted £270 to supply and fit a new egr as they thought that was the problem, I cleaned it for the cost of a tin of carb cleaner!)

How do you know the egr just needed a clean?

Did you check the functionality of it?

True, i didnt really check if the piston operated properly, im still learning about all these things lol. Im surprised i managed to even remove it and clean it without messing something up lol

Anyways, i just called these guys http://www.finneysgarage.co.uk/index.htm who will do a diagnostics test and report for £25.

Atleast i will know which codes are up and be able to pinpoint the problem rather than just guessing.

I will report back with what they say!

Typical.....the diagnostics machine wouldnt recognise my car! The bloke said that had only happened to him once before and that was with a ...wait for it.............................................Vec tra C!!! He asked if it had been remappedand as far as im aware it's not. But I was quite shocked how fast it was when I first bought it.
Anyways, he said the light was more than likely the egr. But im taking it back tomorrow as he said he will take in his own laptop and see if that picks it up.
    Fingers crossed!
