Default 1.8 vvti problems, problems problems!!!

    hi everyone,
im having a few probs with my 1.8 vvti sri with 150k.
ive done a fare bit of work to the motor lately and lastnight the car with the spanner light came on and stayed on.
    work done recently =
    yesterday =
    new timing belt,
    new camshaft seals,
    new crankshaft seals,

    few weeks back =
    new water pump,
    new battery,
    new front exhust pipe,

i am currently driving the car without a thermostat as the car was over heating a few weeks back when i changed the water pump, the old pump was fine but i put a new one in it a seeing i had already bought it, so i took out the stat and it been driving fine,
i have a new stat and will fit it over the weekend.

i just done the pedal test and it showing these codes =
0011, camshaft psition timing over/system performance
    0013, camshaft psition/actuator circut
    0100, mass airflow
    0110, intake air temp malfunction
0160, 02 sensor circut, no activity detected
    0597, thermostat prob.
0621, generator lamp "L" control circut malfunction.

i know some of these are old ones, so ive disconnected the battery so the ecu should hopefully reset.

So what are the current problems? You appear to have sorted most of the problems out??

You need to post the current error codes, as you have stated some of these are no longer applicable.

    confused

    hi,
i went to work in the car lastnight and it seemed to drive ok then the light came back on and when i picked up a few passengers it lacked power.
i done the pedel test and got the following codes,
0597, thermostat prob. driving without one so dissregard this.
0011, A camshaft position, timing over advanced or system performence.
0014, B camshaft position, timing over advanced or system performence.
0100, mass or volume air flow malfuntion, i started the car with the airflow meter off so this might be because of that.
0110, intake air temperature circut malfuntion, same as above i would say.
    0170, fuel trim malfuntion.
0621, generater lamp "L" control circut malfuntion.

i would say the the ones relating to my problems would be,
    0011, 0014, 0170 0621.

cant help thinking that my timing is slightly off a wee bit as it was driving 100% befor i done the timing belt and camshaft oil seals.?????

    any thoughts, anyone????????????????

Driving without a thermostat? What temperature is the gauge showing when you're driving along?

60 is wayyyyyyyyy too low, although it's no surprise that it runs like that given that the water is being cooled too much. The low temperature is going to be part of the reason it isn't running correctly.
