My sisters boss at work is offering me a 55plate facelift 2.2 direct sri nav with 83k on for 2500 quid, but ive read so many things about fuel pumps and chain snaps and now i cannot decide if its a good buy, i know its not alot of dosh but its all i got at the min so dont want to buy problems. It has fsh with 12month mot, so can it be bad? Whats ur thoughts, please help decide.

There not all that bad mate , check what pump is on it , it could already have been changed , a regular service and oils changed every 3-5k and mine has been fine , My next job is the chain and then just normal wear and tear items

Unfortunately the Z22YH is now showing signs of timing chain issues. On the Z22SE engine it was as a result of the small oil jet which lubricated the chain becoming blocked. On the Z22YH it is related to the timing chain tensioner. Same end problem just different reasons for it happening.
