Default Damn car! (150 cdti injector leaking)

Ever since refitting the cam carrier to my car i've been struggling to get injectors 1,2 and 3 to seal properly. New copper washers were fitted and the bores cleaned miraculously but still we're getting slight blow back.

The only thing we aren't doing by the book is that fact we don't have a torque wrench that goes as low as the clamping bolt torque (can't remember it at the mo) but I'm going for one tomorrow. Anyone got any good suggestions that don't involve a can of petrol and a match

Ii have found on other manufacturers that replacing the injector securing bolt and clamp has solved this issue, failign that have you had the injector seat cut properly with the right tool?
Failing that id try and source a thicker washer.

It's the ****** engine. It's made of mince. You could abuse the dti like hell and it just shrugged everything off. You just have to look at the cdti the wrong way and it starts to disintegrate.

Really wish i'd bought a petrol one this time

I was given a grinding tool by the local dealer to tidy up the seat. May try replacing the clamps if I can't get it to seal tomorrow. It tells you to replace the nuts in the haynes manual too so this may have something to do with it

I would stick this one into garage tbh let them have the hassle. The thing has put you through the trials - far too many for a CDTI at that.

Cant understand why your having problems, Ive had chugging problems for ages & eventually went down the line of swapping my injectors around to rule out other issues, plus ive had two overhauled & had all of them out about four times, I remove the injector/s put a garden hose down the hole attached/taped into a vacuum cleaner hose to remove debris, lightly smear grease on the washer to hold in place on the injector for inserting or just drop seal in hole with hose & switch vacuum cleaner off to put in place, tighten up without torque wrench sometimes & have no issues at all, try a light smear of grease on both sides of the washer, I presume your using just the flat washer type of seal.

This is common on any diesel. You need to cut the injector seats, with the correct tool.

All sorted, it wasn't the seats. I did however buy a new torque wrench, stripped everything down again, cleaned it up and put it back together.......problem solved

I wouldn't say this would be a permanent fix Due to the fact that you have had blow bye. I brought this cutting tool as iv seen them going again, after 20k Not all the time. But better to do the job properly.
