    Default House hold insurance

    Evening all

My home insurance is due soon it's been nearly a year in my new house time passes fast!!!

Just afew questions I'm paying £30 a month for buildings and contens can't. Mind what level too was recommended by my mortgage dealer ( so probably paying too much) she they could get commission anyway how do I stand with this i recon it's got nothing to do with it but thought I'd ask anyway I used to have a static caravan (the floor collapsed due to a burst pipe) so I went through the caravan insurance to gett the floor fixed all sorted BUT when I filled the paper work out one of be questions on the paper work was who is my current house hold insurance with ???? I'm guessing it was to see if I am a cerial claimer ??? I have never claimed for anything

Soooo when I renew my home insurance do need to say what has happened surely not .... As it's a totally different policy it's like them saying have u had any claims through your car insurance .....

    Whats your thoughts

Would be best to ring whoever you intend on going with just to check, but I wouldn't think it would need to be disclosed.

Churchill have a great deal on home insurance at the moment. 50% discount if you've got 5+ years no claims. For my 2 bed terrace I'm paying £15 per month which includes accidental damage cover for buildings and contents with nil excess.

Depends on the insurers requirement and the questions they put before you
If they don't ask then you do not need to provide an answer

I've claimed on a few household policies, but they are all separate and on a per property basis
Therfore some have their full NCB in place, others do not

I could have put them all on one policy, but it has worked out cheaper to have them separate
Plus I receive the commission on each purchase

It depends on what purpose you were using the caravan for
Many people have the caravan on its own policy, but the contents on their home insurance (all risks)
