    Wink Led

Hi guys, I'm wanting to wire in two led daytime running lamps to the front of my vectra c DTI 2005. I had previously had two on it and when the car was switched off they flickered on and off in sync. Now this time I want to wire them into the stero illumination wire , as I know that this isn't searched by the canbus system. Think it would look better when I lock and unlock the car and would save time fitting a relay switch. I think the illumination wire is either orange or black but not quite sure. If anyone could help with how to wire this up, possibly diagrams as well would be great.

    Thanks guys...
    :-)

Is this in behind the radio unit or under the bonnet?

All the illumination wires are in the dash, there may be one in the relays under the bonnet I can't remember... Just run a wire behind the glove box and out the grommet in the fire wall, that's what I did...

Lee if want to put lights in the footwells via a switch in the front ash tray, how would I go about doing that? I seen you page on how you did it, but could you go into more detail regarding wiring the switch and that I haven't a clue.

Where you wanting to take the power from? Interior light or dash, and why switch the footwells?

As for the switch I like the 3 pin LED ones, 1 end pin is power in, the other end earth, the middle then goes out to your lights etc...

was thinking of maybe wiring them into the illumination wire for a power source. What them to come on and off when the car is unlocked and locked but don't want them on whilst driving, to much off a distraction plus illegal. Any ideas???

Then from the interior light is perfect and you don't need a switch, any time your interior light comes on they will, so key fob lock/unlock, doors open or when you press the light on... Then go off once keys in and driving (unless you put light on of course)

If you use dash illumination, the unlock will activate them, but once you put your lights on they will stay on, so would need a switch to turn them off when drive... After few weeks you'll prob get bored of turning them/fitted switch back on as exit the car so they come on next time you get in and use key fob, you'll never see them on...
