spanner and car light on

mine shows the same,spanner and car light on turning ignition on...goes out when engine starts and runs spot on...it's a 1.9 150 BTW
I've just enabled the 'taxi' locking/unlocking ...would this make the light appear ???
My mechanic says it's not a problem if it goes out when started

taxi doors will not cause a spanner light mate.

If it goes out after a few seconds - it means that there is a stored code and not a fault right at that actual time.. To say its not a problem however I think is wrong. there is or has been a problem and you should get the codes read.

Glow plugs are a common issue that will cause the spanner to go out once a cold start has happened.

Glow plugs normally do that on the diesel.
