I'm ashamed to say it was the first time I have ever been to Murrayfield stadium to a rugby match.
It was fan-******-tastic!!!.
We were in the East stand. Went along with two other couples, best mates.
We got humped by the Aussies, but to be honest, Scotland put up a pretty good performance, team wise despite the beating.
The Australian team were in a different class though, so hats off to them, they simply played us off the park. It's no wonder they are world number 4th just now.
The atmosphere was simply electric. We had a dozen Aussies sat behind us and the chat back and forward was superb and very funny. Good humour and sportsmanship was in abundance, even if the insults were being thrown around back and forth, it was all in good taste and good nature.
We went ahead right from the start and were winning 10-0 initially, then Webster went off injured for us and the team seemed to loose a bit of cohesion, but the Australians stepped up a gear and came back with a passion.
End result was Scotland 15 - Australia 44.
After the match, we just walked back to the train station and came home, there was simply nowhere to go for a beer, all the pubs were jam packed full and you were looking at standing in a queue for an hour just to get inside!!!.
So we ended up back in my home town of Falkirk where we went to the pub and watched the Wales v All Blacks game, which was great as my best mate's fiancee is Welsh. Went back to his place and I fell asleep on the couch at 3:00am after muchos Stella Artois......LOL.
Great weekend and we have booked tickets for the Scotland v Wales game in Feb next year.
Oh.....and it was a record crowd attendance for a Scotland v Australia friendly at almost 66,000.
The pics, not fantastic, but here they are anyway:-
