diesel partical filter issue maybe

so i have a 2006 1.9 150 vectra wirh 47 on rhe clock. at least one a week after a certain 12/13 mile trip we get a cetrain fuelly smell followed by whiteish smoke which appear to come from the sides of the car. then if u set off from a juction theres usually a plume of smoke. the car isnt losing or using any water or oil. seems to boost fine and no water in engine so i can only think that dpf is failing to regenerate and is possibly blocked. what are peoples thoughts on a non vx replacement or do i go down the removal pipe and remap route.

my m8s car has a suspected almost blocked dpf. were considering taking it of and soaking it in alloy wheel cleaner overnight to see if it dissolves the crud. his tries to regen and you notice 2 things, smell and mpg drops dramatically

Is there not a light on dash the zafira comes up with a warning when its 50% only know as it was on when i collected it so had to blast it down the road never been on again as I always do motorway journeys

Is your car an estate as I am pretty sure only the Vectra estate had DPF's

I must be one of the few who like them.

Nothing worse than seeing a diesel smoking and killing my children.

I'm happy with mine also no smoke ever hate seen a diesel giving out a puff of black smoke when u put the foot down lol

Try a bottle of forte DPF cleaner (£17?) and a long hot motorway run locked in 3/4 gear.
