    Default 1.8VVT No Power

    As above, no jokes. Car struggles to go over 60mph if it gets to a slight hill. Feels like its holding back in every gear. Coilpack?

    Also noticed the engine clatters every few seconds when idling.

    any fault codes ?? does sound like the coilpack to me - but when it goes it REALLY goes !!

    Coil pack should throw up the EML, but might be still worth doing the pedal test to see if there is any codes.

    Failed coil pack should be showing an EML...

    Does the engine light come on before you turn the ignition fully?

    I've just been out and checked and this code is stored:

    P0011 - Intake Camshaft Phasing Mechanics Range/Perfomance (Bank 1)

    Sure I haven't seen the EML though... It also says Not Present so may be a historic one?

    first thought cam sensor, but then would that be giving you a ratte? i think not.
