Default Would You Swap 1.8SRi for 2.2SRi?

As above, I'd be getting a 2.2 SRi, 2 years older with slightly more miles.

I'm after more power with not much change in economy.

    Would you?

    2.2 Specs:

    Fuel consumption (urban)27.2 mpg Fuel consumption (extra urban)47.1 mpg Fuel consumption (combined)37.2 mpg 0 - 62 mph9.7 seconds Top speed135 mph Cylinders4 Valves16 v Engine power155 bhp Engine torque162 lbs/ft

    1.8 Spec:

    Fuel consumption (urban)28 mpg Fuel consumption (extra urban)51.4 mpg Fuel consumption (combined)39.2 mpg 0 - 62 mph10.2 seconds Top speed131 mph Cylinders4 Valves16 v Engine power140 bhp Engine torque129 lbs/ft

Being honest mate, you wouldn't notice much difference performance wise between a 1.8 VVT 140 and 2.2 DIRECT with 155 bhp.

I think there are more reliability issues with the Z22YH engine. Fuel pumps and timing chain tensioners are common issues on the 2.2 engine.

    I did.

    Isn't your 2.2 DIRECT tuned?

Standard Vs standard there wouldn't be a very noticeable difference. There is only 15 bhp difference at best. This wouldn't translate to an arse whooping on a private track drag race. The torque is significantly better in the DIRECT but again, if both cars were taking the engine to peak power RPM this wouldn't make a vast difference.
