tow bar wireing , useing by pass relay

hey , has anyone here done this ?? its just the lights i need , iv wired it up as far as i can tell and there is power going to the relay but the lights dont work , been tryin to figure it out for weeks now but still nothing , someone please help !!!!!!

Have you used a direct 12v from the battery to supply the relay?

I fitted my towbar and wired it up without the VX wiring kit.

The main problem with the N socket is how the vehicle tail and stop lights operate.

The Vectra operates the tail light bulbs at reduced voltage and then operates the same bulbs at full 12V for the stop light.

This confuses the wiring.

Also, there is a bulb failure detection which further complicates matters.

I wired my electrics up by using the number plate lights for tail (they operate at full 12V all the time) and using the high level centre stop light for the towbar stop light. The indicators can be simply connected to the rear of each side light cluster wiring without issue.

The feeds for the tail and stop then operate a relay each for the main towbar wiring. Power for these relays came from the rear fuse box, the next fuse slot to the large 40A orange fuse that is fitted.

The feeds from number plate and high level centre stop light also came from the rear fuse box, through tracing and testing the wires.

I haven't wired up my S socket, and probably will never do it, as I don't need it.

iv just used the wireing harness in the boot for the tow bar , found a diagram somewhere that said what the colours where , i used the 12v supply in the harness , i was trying to avoid wireing in to the lights , but looks like im gona have to since this dont seem to be working , i dont mind if the canbus system only goes nuts while im towing as its only short distances i go , to get somewhere off road with the bikes , really have no idea whats going on , its deffenetly getting 12v in but nothing out , unless testing from the red supply wire to one of the out puts then u get 12v but going from earth to one of the outputs there is nothing , i wired my last car
(saab 9-5) the same way and it was fine except i didnt use the bypass really hmmmmmmm

Ok iv just realized there is no control modual in the rear fues box , , anyone know where I can get one cheap or is there a way round this ?

ahhhhhhh got a module fitted it but still no ****** lights , the fuse is in , anyone know what the deal is ?? this is doing my head in now !!!!

I had a genuine vx towbar wiring loom and Module, tech 2'd and stills only had right hand side. Gave up and used a 7way bypass kit and wired into rear lights. Quick and easy and cheaper ;0)

Did anything work before it was tech2'd ? I have used the bypass realy as well , dono if I need it or if i do away with the bypass will it maybe work ? I now wish is bought an older car where u don't have any of these problems lol , only a matter of time befor I get pulled over n can only use the "oh it must be a fuse" excuse once lol , its only a small mesh trailer n can still see my lights but still don't think it will go down to well
