To be honest, I don't like poor spelling and grammar. To me it is just sloppy and lazy language.

Another one is there, their and they're.

I BOUGHT a car and BROUGHT it home. Not difficult.

Have noticed the same sort of thing.

The one I seem to see a lot of is folk saying how a particular item is "sort after", rather than "sought after".

I also have a friend at work that can't quite sort out "where" from "wear". Often talks about "whereing" his clothes!

I personally think society as a whole has become very lazy when it comes to spelling. Especially with the increase of txt spk. This is something I also struggle with at times and often have to re-check emails etc that I send. I think overall especially with the young ones going through school nowadays proper spelling doesnt happen and I suppose partly due to lazyness. (Did I spell that right? or isit laziness? No that cant be right??? Can it??)

"Grammar and punctuation are not important anymore", said the school inspector.

So the teacher wrote a sentence on the black board.

The inspector said the teacher is an idiot

Then turned round to the inspector and repeated that punctuation was not important anymore. The teacher then added punctuation to the sentence already written on the black board.

"The inspector", said the teacher "is an idiot".

paul mate im like that aswell except the highly qualified in alot of things loll I have to put alot of effort in when sending emails and letters. I put this in part to laziness and in part to being thick lol i have no idea why but i do think that leaving 1 or 2 letters out is 'easier' and quicker even though im quite competant with a keyboard lol as i said prehaps my own laziness

Another one - you're (you are), often written as "your" .

TBH, there's many threads started on this and other forums where I could post but don't. Reason - really bad grammar, puntuation, text speak etc., etc..

If it's not three bad, maybe I'll read it but 9 times out of 10, I can't be asked. Maybe it's my age showing .

do you ever think people are dyslexic and struggle with spelling and words in general, like paul and paddy said i struggle with punctuation and spelling but
I am a highly qualified mechanic and instructor in various bits of equipment in the army, does that make me just sloppy and lazy, No didn't think so...

    Rant over
