    Default M32 gearbox adjustment

    Hi guys, know you won't fail me.

    I have a 120 cdti and want to try to improve the gear selection.

    It's the m32 box.

    I have already changed oil to 2.4l of vauxhalls fully synthetic oil.

    I am now thinking of adjusting the selector cables. I have seen the how2 for the f40 gearbox and understand the principle. However, I can't find anywhere to lock the selector mechanism at the gearbox. Can anyone point me in the right direction. Where do I insert what size drill bit etc?

    Hoping to improve 2nd gear engagement.

    I've got the M32 on my 2.2 Direct and want to change the fluid to reduce 'notchiness' between 1st and 2nd - how much difference did it make for you?

    Anyone tried this on the m32 box or found any links on the net?

    I can't seem to see anything related unless you know better.

    I'll tell you why reducing the oil to 2.4 litres didn't make any difference - because that's ONLY for the F40 gearbox. I've no idea how much oil the M32 is supposed to have in it, but I suggest you find out and put that much back in before you break the box.

    Mr Haynes says 2.2 litres in the M32 box. Would an extra 200ml make much difference?

    Probably at least 200ml still in there when it was drained, so if you put 2.4 back in, that makes 2.6 litres. Is 400ml too much going to help or hinder? Hinder, I suspect......
