    Default sky go for android

as a sky user i ave been waiting months for this, the adverts that say you can watch on your mobile have until now only meant iphones without actually saying that.

anyway its now out for android, a fix has been issued to help compatibilty with the galaxy s2 that i have. all good.

now it doesnt work on rooted phones, wtf was the point in bothering to make the app if you then automatically exclude most users!

iphones are for people that like things to work out of the box, android is for people that like to change the way things work so most are rooted.

    what a complete balls up!

    is that unrooted?

rooted is similar to jailbreaking an iphone, it just gives you more control over the phone.
the difference is apple dont like jailbreaking and android alsmot seems to encourage rooting!

Installed it on my stock HTC desire yesterday, also been waiting for this for ages. Works perfectly.

but there are an awful lot of rooted androids out there and not one of them can get it to work properly.

there are workarounds out there but they are quite complicated.

seems sky app developers arent as good as some kids in their bedrooms!

Not fair to generalise ALL iphone users with such a comment really, I went back to an iPhone due to the Galaxy S2 simply being the worse phone ive ever owned!

Have a lot of Sky Apps on the iphone, and only ever used one of them to add things to my Sky+ Planner

Funny isnt it, I had Windows mobile phones for years, one after the other and ALWAYS made a point of un-locking them and installing different builds onto them. Haven't touched my HTC in all the time I've had it, it does everything I need it to and more without doing so

i phones work well straight from the box and not much can be changed on them, most apple customers i like that, i guess not all otherwise the jailbreak thing wouldnt exist at all i guess.

the galaxy s2 is the king of phones and we dont have to suffer itunes either!
