Default Nightmare that turned out well!

Had a terrible last 24hrs with the car (06 CDTI 150...)

Broke down in 3rd lane of M62 during rush hour last night, Highways agency stopped traffic so we could push off carriageway - then 40 mins in the rain waiting for Breakdown.
Ended up with a service van, followed by a flatbed to Birch Services, followed by another flatbed to get car to my local garage - took close to 4 hours to get relayed home (about 30 miles!!)

Car was attempting to turn but then Starter was clicking - battery appeared to be fully charged.

Diagnostic at my local garage showed failed Alternator, so ordered replacement and aux belt. During work noted that the inner drive-shaft gatter was split so that had to be replaced as well...

Had a pair of drop links waiting at home so thought might as well get them replaced at same time.

Not a bad bill in the end £380 all in parts/labour/Vat - and managed to get an account with garage so only had to pay half today!

If anyone is up in Calder Valley - try Murt's Motor Centre - top work and top lads!

Invoice says it's a Friesen Gm 105amp unit with Gates drive belt (code 9090324 if that helps)
Driving a lot better, smoother idle and more power ib acceleration (maybe placebo effect after having work done!)

    Motorway recovery is so slow.

Think it would be better as ment to be so dangerous

That's the one - through natwest.
Sent out local firn, ser ice vehicle, then flatbed to services, then dropped and wait for another flatbed.
Not ideal timewise and charged due to distance!
I feel a strongly worded email is in order lol

I hit the 62 at about 19:15 and there was still warnings on the M6 about a tailback. Wonder if you were the cause
No jams when I got to the 62 though.
