So RBS' losses have doubled to over £700m so what do they do? Pay bonuses of £390m, how can that make sense? Surely if they didn't pay stupid bonuses then their losses wouldn't have double? *sigh* bankers.....

Nearly £2b lost due to PPI and the Greek debt crisis. Good time to buy shares in them though, only 27p. Will be a better investment than sticking your money in a bank account with them. At one point I think they were around £6 a share.

yes, I think they hit a low of about 19p, was wishing I had bought some then. Definitely have to be a long term investment before they get anywhere near £6 again though lol

The whole issue with the bankers and bonus's thing is that the people who write the news are after sensationalism, simple as that.

If they were to tell the truth in that the losses due PPI payout, toxic debt write off, Eurozone prop's (Greece Rep of Ireland, Spain and Portugal) etc were all disclosed the truth of the debt versus income would be seen for what it is, i.e. the ability to make profit was wiped out completely by the debt's outside of the banks influence but still assigned to it.

As for Bonus payments. The banks need greedy hungry and quite brilliant investment brokers who need to be given a big stick to create the huge incomes needed to wipe out the monsterous debts created from other debt lines.

If only you knew mate, I have lost a fortune thanks to the banking crisis as I am in shopfitting I am dependent on new shops refitting of shops and more important people spending so that we can refit and re-design. I have kept head above water the last four years, but only just!!
