Thumbs up 18'' SnowFlake Tyres 225/40/18 or 235/40/18

I have purchased a set of 18'' snowflake alloys, there tyres on there are 225/40/18 alloys are off an astra vxr.

I have a vectra pre facelift & was wondering if I could fit 235/40/18 which is the original size for the vxr for these alloys is this correct?

Which size should i go for and will they fit my Vectra? Just want confirmation. I have checked the tyre calculater and there is not much difference in it.
    Original tyre size is 215/50/17.

    ALLOYS 8 x 18'' ET39.

    Many Thanks

So the for cdti the 235/40/18 will be fine for my pre facelift 1.9? Have lowered the car by 30mm as well will this make a difference?

    Thanks

    235 40 18 won't be a problem for clearance. I've got them on my 18's and its lowered 45mm

On any of the other vx 18s then i'd agree but the 18 inch flake is 8j and 235/40s were the size fitted to Vec vxrs
