the 225/45/17 is a fair bit cheaper than going for the 215/50/17, I was only changing 2 at the time, so had to match the others. Otherwise i would have gone for the 225/45/17

wel, Job done for me now, all 215/50/17. Didnt want to start running different tyres front/rear.
Ah good old sunnys I am wearing a full set of 245 50 R17 sunnys myself and they are not that bad even in the ice and snow if you take care. That said, I can wheel spin in 4th gear at 65mph if the motorway gets wet
Sorry for dragging up an old thread but it seemed the right thing to do seeing as I started it!
Time and a lack of cash have meant that I havent changed my lovely Sunny tyres on the front. However they are now knackered. The rears still look new though so I think something is now right up front - I will open a new thread about that.
However, Im considering getting 2 x Kumho Ecsta Le Sport KU 39 tyres for the fronts. I ran the KU31 tyres on my old 306 and liked them. Im just wondering if they would be a bit too quick wearing for my motorway journeys everyday. I do about 50 miles a day up and down the motorways so need something that will lat more than say 15k miles. Has anyone any experience of the KU39 tyres, or can recommend something quite hard wearing but reasonably cheap to put on the front?
Thanks in advance.
ive got 4 infinaty tyers on mine and they arnt too bad tbh (215/50/r17)
Good choice and an acceptable compromise (cost v wear)
I noted above you were looking at 225/45R17 in 91V
May I suggest you look at 91W or 94W
You should find virtually no difference in going for the 94W in this tyre size (in some cases it is cheaper)
It won't last any longer but it is more durable in the event of one other tyre being below pressure
