    Default Goodyear F1s

Went to the tyre fitters today having ordered NCT5s.

I had ordered NCT5s 225/45/17 following various posts on the subject which seemed to favour the 225s over the more expensive 215s.

Anyway, got there this morning to be told that Goodyear don't actually do the NCT5s in that size. The tyres they had ordered in for me were the Goodyear F1s 225/45 ZR. the guy showed me a goodyear book which backed up what he was telling me.

These F1s have a very sporty tred pattern so they look quite good, but does anyone know if these are OK? What is the wear & grip like?

I was a little worried seeing them on the rims (standard SRi 17") as they seem to "stick out" over the rims a little, but then I noticed that they have rim protectors so I guess that's why??

    I paid £98 each fitted & balanced.

The F1 are more than OK ...
I would say that the grip is better and the wear is worse ...
My choice between the two would easily be the F1 ones.

Best tyres I've ever had. Grip is phenomenal both wet and dry.

Just to jump on the band wagon my local VX dealer said the F1s out perform the NCT5s by miles, (blackcircles website also backs it up.
Im going to get mine from mytyres.co.uk there just over £77 quid and get local Vx dealer to fit them, he also said he will tech2 it for nothing while doing them, though he did say the difference is that slight you dont need it doing really!

didn't think of getting the dealer to fit them.
I'd be interested to know what he charges you for the fitting.
