Model Year 2007 onwards - Front spring failures?

Has anybody with a 2007 or later car had a front spring fail? I know there was a design change introduced in production in 2007 model year just wondering if it fixed the problem?
My 2004 model went pop today and i'm thinking of changing to the later spec.

I'm 99% sure ive seen a 57 and 08 plate vectras with front snapped springs.
best bet would be eibach springs or the vauxhall bad road package fitted to police spec cars.
