    Default Cold start problem z18xer

Hey. I have a Vectra 07-z18xer. Every morning when it's cold, i have problem with starting. Viewing 20 seconds with the starter before the engine starts. This happens only when the car has stood overnight. </SPAN></SPAN>
Is it + degrees, this is no problem

    Hope someone can help :-)

I have a video from this morning:

Noticed the Spanner light is illuminating, then going out, I dont think that should be happening. Do the pedal test and see if there are any fault codes.

I would check the connection to the coil pack and then the coil pack itself.... I had a similar problem where mine sometimes would not start at all however much you cranked it but then sometimes it would. I got hold of a second hand coil pack but when I went to change it I found the connection to the coil pack was not clipped on properly. I clipped it in and problem solved!! It ran fine, just sometimes did not start????

With regard to the previous post, the engine management light does the exact same thing on mine. It is on until the engine fires.... If I flick the starter for a split second, not enough to start it my engine management light will go off while it cranks and then come back on so I don't think there is a problem with that.... Also, pretty sure the pedal trick to read codes won't work on yours.....

    Good luck!

Ah thats the EML light. Must be a facelift thing. The EML light on mine is an Engine shape on the lower right corner of my dash.

I have done the "pedal test". 10-1-1-5 and that will be
0115 Engine Coolant Temperature Circuit Malfunction. I have already replaced temp sensor is behind the thermostat housing with no luck. Could it be that the sensor is inside the thermostat housing or the thermostat housing?

I have tried a different coil pack without help. hope someone has more tips. I have checked the fuel pump, it is ok. Could it be the crank sensor? the problem occurs every time the car has not been used for 9-10 hours and the engine is cold. otherwise it starts every time.
