    Smile Siggy Search!

Hi folks... just sold my Mondeo 2.0TDCI to raise a bit of cash and looking for a Siggy, originally wanted an auto due to the Mrs having a bad back so nice soft ride important along with not using left leg.. drove a 3.0 facelift Elite Auto and would have bought it on the spot but 1300Kg towing limit no use to me! Drove a 150 auto which was a nice drive but the example we were looking at wasn't up to scratch...solved the need for an auto by picking up an Astra Easytronic so now I can have a manual Siggy... what I need to ask is... Design model suspension any different to elite? I have see a 3.0 Design which seems to have 1/2 leather sporty seats.. if the rides rock hard(as was Mondeo with sports suspension and seats) then thats no good(I'm getting old!) and whilst I'm tempted with the fuel consumption and probably perfectly adequate performance of a 120 cdti the lure of the V6 is strong... Its a bit of a trek to go see so any feedback on difference in ride quality much appreciated.. are the seats wide enough to be comfy.. in the mondeo I was squeezed in tight and I'm not huge.. well 6ft 4 and 17 stone aint really huge! Anything else I should look out for particular to the v6 lump???

    Thanks in anticipation..

    Stoph

The elite will have pretty much all of the bells and whistles as well as the softer suspension and in auto guise is a pretty decent motor
If you can afford to run the 2.8v6 petrol then there even cheaper to pick up these days and can afford you several large smiles when the mrs isn't in the car

0-Large smile ......every time it's driven

to answer the question you actually asked , the design suspension is the same as the sri suspension
the elite suspension is softer , the design suspension is 15mm lower and slightly stiffer but not too stiff

The design suspension isn't too hard. Also I'm 6'6 and 19 stone, fitted in nicely.

The suspension and on my Signum CDTi-150 Design isn't too firm - but provides a good balance between comfort and sport. The seats are a bit on the firm side, yet comfortable and supportive without needing oversized bolsters etc. I drove the Elite and Design back to back, and prefered the Design set up - although this was a personal choice.
