    Default 2.8T ownership - 3 month review

Well Its nearly 3 months of owning the 2.8T so thought I write a quick review.

Absolutly loving it. For me it has just the right about of power altho i'm starting to get used to it, and therefore will hanker after more eventually.

Yes tax is £460 which I had to shell out for at the beginning of Jan. To justify the cost to myself, I say that because my beetle comes under historic tax and therefore is free, so "taxing" 2 cars a year for £460 is not too bad.

I do about 300-350 miles a week, my 2.0T was using about £50 in fuel 95 ron and the 2.8T is using about £65 in fuel 99 ron so only about £11ish more a week. Which again I don't think is too bad.

The car drives beautifully very smooth and when you get to about 4000 rpm the power really starts to come through, and I love the sound of the V6

The biggest difference I've noticed between my 2.0T and the 2.8T and this is not engine related, is the ride. My old one had 19" snowflakes with 30mm drop on Spax springs and the new one is on 18" Evo Stars with i believe has the same 30mm drop on eibachs. The 19's really were bone shakers in comparison to the 18's

One small niggle which I'll get sorted when I get time is that the TC light comes now every time i drive it. I've cleaned the ABS sensor but no difference, I've got a code reader so need to get the codes read and find out whats what.

all in all very pleased that I upgraded.

My other car. 1972 1641cc slammed beetle. On the road finally!!

im glad you enjoy the 2.8 turbo

there very nice indeed to drive the 2.8 turbo, very quiet indeed and at 1
point when i first got mine i thought id stalled it,god cant believe ive had
it nearly 6mths,gotta tax it the end of this month.

also thinking of down grading to the 18`s but not sure which ones yet
but shame as i bought a set brand new 19" snowflakes and new flaken
fk452 tyres back in december so have to see whats around.

Took mine for a 150 mile run today & loved it. It's very smooth & the V6 sounds lovely as the revs climb.

A very quick car with bags of torque.

Had mine six years now and absolutley love it. The lpg helps with fuel costs.
