    Default Apple regional differences?

    HI,

Im off to New York in a few weeks and was thinking of buying an ipad while over there as they are a bit cheaper.

Are there any regional differences or conflicts with the US or UK bought ones?

Don't want to buy one and get it home to find it won't work over here.

    Ta!

Careful with Customs, they will charge you import duties.

Take a case for the iPad with you as well as a UK bought charger, post the box and US charger, instructions paperwork home, clearly marked up as empty packaging for custom's in the PO service, and carry the iPad in the hand luggage, no issue, no real worry over duty.

If the rumours are correct the new version should be released in the US on 7th march.

Im going just after that so hopefully will get my hands on one?

Good point about the customs thing Derek. Will have to sort that.

with regards to customs most travellers can bring other goods into the UK worth up to £390 (e.g. perfume and electrical goods) without paying duty and / or tax in the UK. If you bring in goods worth more than your allowance, you must pay duty and / or tax on the full value, not just the value above the allowance.

if your getting a 3g model make sure you dont purchase a verizon ipad as it wont work on uk networks, as for the power supply the charger is designed to work with 100V-240V, you will just need to get the uk 3 pin plug bit that connects to the charger.

    Thanks Neil,

What is a 'Verizon' ipad and how will I be able to identify it?
