    Default Wiper problem

    my friends vec has started parking its wipers anywhere it feels like it
    its fitted with auto wipers.
    what can the problem be and how can it be fixed?
    VXR IS FOR LIFE NOT JUST FOR THRILLS !

    Bad earth in the motor, there's a howto for it somewhere I think.

    thanks Ian just read that how too bit involved for me lol so a replacement motor is on the cards i think either that or he will have to put up with it lol

    I had a problem with mine once and it did the same, then they parked vertically. I had been driving in high winds with stay flat wipers with a deflector on them, I too thought about replacing the motor but I looked at another car and it turned out, the nut had come loose on the motor and the arm had turned.
    I unscrewed the nut a little, put he arms where they should have been, retightened the nut and then replaced the wipers to standard ones and haven't had the problem since.

    Worth checking the nut though before spending on a replacement motor/earth bit.

    I had the same on my Vec B Chris, they wouldnt park when I turned them off or the ignition off - new motor resolved it.

    Happened to my son i laws Veccy B. Silly price for a new motor, got one from a breakers for £25 including all the linkage with 7 day guarantee. Worked a treat and still O.K., 3 weeks on.
