Vehicle : Mk1 renault scenic... I know I know but it drives

    Trim : Basic

    Engine : 1.6 16v

    Year : 2003

    Default Do I need them?

Well as some of you know I got some irmscher springs and shocks.

So a bought some new top mounts and bearings aswel.

But I don't have the plastic sleeve for the bottom of the springs. And don't have the rubber gaiter and bump stop thing that goes on the shock.

Hope everyone under stands what I mean.

But basically I want to put the new set together ready. So do I need them? And if I do does anyone have a part number?

    Vehicle : Vauxhall Vectra Hatch

Trim : SRI with added X-Pack

    Engine : 1.9 16v 150

    Year : 2006

    Mileage : Near 100K

Not sure about the bumpstops as I know the bilstein b6 and b8 have thicker pistons so the standard bumpstops wont fit, However they have internal bumpstops anyway.

The plastic sleeve that wraps around the spring is there to prevent noises when turning, so the springs don't clunk on the bottom of the shock absorber.

The dust guard is there to prevent pitting on the piston on the shock absorber which would damage the seals.

So you really need the plastic sleeve and dust guard, and bumpstops depending on what shock absorber you will need the bumpstops too.

    Cheers mate.

I'll have a look and see if can find weather bump stops are inside or not.

I did think that about that plastic sleeve and dirt protector.

Looks like am gonna have to strip old shocks down then unless a can get hold of some

Have you just not fitted them or have you got a different cover over them?

Just looked and the rod on the new shocks looks quite thick not sure if it's bigger than standard or not though.

So not even sure if standard bump stop and gaiter would fit.
