Vectra cdti sri 120 drop in fuel economy

Hi my vectra sri 120 has developed a thirst for diesel i normallt get 44 /50 average ,
After changing diesel filter /air filter and a oil and filter change it has dropped to 38/40 mpg .
Due to not having time o change the oil alocal garage changed oil and filter would the wrong type of oil cause problems

Problem sorted it was the egr valve and solenoid totally full of soot and seized
Stripped down and cleaned and car feels and runs as it should
