    Default HIDs in full beam?

I have hids in main headlights at the mo, but I am taking front off soon to fix a steaming fog light and to replace hid bulbs as they r crap (ordered wrong ones)

Now I have decided to fit another set of hids inside my fogs possibly and do away with my 2nd set of sidelights in fogs as they always leak no matter how well I seal them

But I might put another set of hids in full beam, has anyone done it and is it worth it?

Not worth it in full beam because of the time it would take for the bulbs to warm up and give their full output.

Plus it would shorten the life expectancy of the bulbs when flashing people due to the very brief time they are on.

Stick to halogens for full beam

I was told it can't be done due to length of time ballast take to power up. Flash won't work properly.

Oddly enough, full bean seems to be the only light that's decent in the headlamp cluster

The main beam are open reflective type. Should you forget to switch them off, I don't imagine motorists coming towards you would apprectiate the full intensity of the light in their eyes.

As said they dont warm up quick enough.

I had them in the main beam in my last car but didnt fit them in my Signum for that reason.

Just get a pair of really good bulbs for the high beams, like Osram Nightbreakers or Ring Xenon Ultima.

I've notice that the OEM bulbs in the mazda 6 are instant. I'm not really sure why but all i know is that I come across the same type of bulbs (except 700 watts) in many of the show lights i use and they take a good 30 seconds to get to full temp and maybe 10 seconds to get to a useable brightness. I think Cree LED is going to be the way forward eventually.

Are they using bi-xenon bulbs though?

Because a shutter just opens up to allow extra light out put in the bi-xenon lights
