Default LED conversion, type and colour

I'm looking at doing the LED conversion on my 04 Signum. I have read the how2, but it refers to the LEDs as PLCC2, there seems to be 2 different PLCC2 LEDs available from crazyLEDs.com 3020 and 3528, I found these on eBay, will they work? £4.50 delivered from Hong Kong for 100:

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/100-pcs-white-3528-PLCC-2-1210-SMT-SMD-LED-Strip-CHIP-/330608458802?pt=UK_AudioElectronicsVideo_Video_Tel evisionSetTopBoxes&hash=item4cf9ccbc32

Also, if I decide to use different colours for different dials, is there a noticeable difference in brightness between them? On a chart on an eBay sellers item, it says at 20mA (Green 1800 lumens, Blue 1000 L, Red 1500 L, White 2500 L).

I mainly want to use white ones, but I may use blue and green for the stereo, like this:

and I obviously don't want different brightnesses.

Can the boggin orange display be changed to blue simply by changing the LEDs in it?

Here is the finished conversion, apart from the stereo. Still waiting for the LEDs for it:

As everyone else who has done a conversion says......"It looks way better in the flesh than in the picture"

My display took 36 PLCC2 LEDs. But well worth the effort.

Depends how good you are at soldering. The LEDs are very small. The worst part for me wasn't the soldering, but taking the LCD screen apart (was scared of breaking the ribbon cable connectors) and also dismantling the instrument cluster.

If you have soldered before and can do it, I would have a go. You can start on the rear door electric window controls first, as these are cheaper to replace if you break them. Then do the front window controls, a few more LEDs in there. Then do the light switch and heater control. By then you have a good idea of what you are doing, then do the LCD and the instrument cluster.

Some of the LEDs that need changing are side facing ones, I just used the PLCC2 LEDs on their side, as people on here said to do. They work fine.

I haven't done the stereo yet as I didn't have the right LEDs for the job. Those ones are smaller again, 0805 style.
