Oh yes, crickets in my blood.

The English bowlings not good enough at the moment to win matches. I can't see Harmison lasting the full tour, it will probably end up with Monty and Giles doing the most of the bowling as the tour goes on.

I've got hopes for Cook, Bell & Strauss to get some big scores and KP is a big game player so there's some pressure on him to do well.

As for the Aussies, have you caught Ned Kelly yet !!

I think England need another couple of Flintoffs; he seems to be carrying the team.

It looks like Strauss and Cook will have to wait 'til the second innings to do their thing. I imagine there was a sense of relief when Pieterson held his first Ashes catch!

I very rashly had a bet with our manager in Oz. If the poms win, he sends me an Aussie cricket shirt and if the aussies win, I send him a Pom cricket shirt. Last time around, I won a case of "wine" off him (- actually it was quite good) that really hurt.

I can't lose. If I get to wear the aussie shirt, then there is an even chance that someone will buy me a beer to remind me that they can't brew proper stuff down under, If he wears an England cricket shirt, they'll just feel sorry for him and expect him to shout the beer (mind you, he is so tight he couldn't shout if a shark bit him)

Needless to say, after today's performance I am busy looking for an XL england cricket shirt............

Sorry all you guys down under - but I get pommie bashed every day of the week by my alleged work colleagues. Or should that be "tonked"?

Seeing as the Barmy Army are getting a rough time by the Aussie police for making more noise than the Aussie's ( I didn't think it was possible), I've sent them a text messgae to cheer them up:

An English tourist visiting the Outback of Australia notices a farmer goin' at it with a sheep in a nearby field. The English guy taken aback by this, so he climbs the fence and walks over to the farmer. He taps him on the shoulder and says, "You know mate, back home, we shear those!"
The Aussie farmer looks frantically around and says, "I'm not ****** SHARING with anyone!"

    Quickies

    1. Walking through the bush Brett and Glen came across a dingo licking its privates. After watching for a few minutes Brett said to Glen, "Just between you and me, I've wanted to do that all my life." A bemused Glen looked at him and said, "Go ahead mate, but I'd pat him first. He looks pretty vicious to me."

    2. Newsflash! Shane Warne's library burned down on the weekend and two books, amongst other personal belongings, were destroyed! The real tragedy was that he hadn't finished colouring in one of them.

    3. Ricky Pointings is walking down a dusty outback road. Freddy Flintoff pulls up in an old beat-up Ute and says, "Would you like a lift mate?" Ricky thinks for a minute and replies, "No way mate, you can open and close your own ****** gates."

    4. What do you get if you cross a kangaroo with a lamb?
    A woolly jumper.

    5. There's a Japanese firm that has developed a camera with a shutter speed so fast it can actually catch an Aussie with his mouth shut.

    Sorry.

    A bit of deja vu.

There is a serious school of thought that this is the reason we lost the Ashes to you guys in 2005. McGrath was injured & played 2 of 5 tests, Gillespie lost the plot & we needed to blood a young Tait 2 yrs too early for most in the know.

Going to be a great series & I firmly believe we will win the old pot back.
