    Default Double din fitting help

Hey folks, Finally got my avh-2400bt today, Alls well in terms of the stereo etc its just fitting the damn thing. The pioneer cage is slightly too big to fit into the space vacated by the cdr-2005, width wise it seems perfect but it doesnt fit top to bottom. the space is mayby 5-10 mm short. So is there a specific vaux cage that fits? (searched the net but cant seem to find anything)

Or the other option is hacking at the plastic surround for the cage, which is my last option as i dont want to have to replace when it comes to selling car.

also are all the avh-3300bt / 2400bt same size cages?

I know a few folk from here have fitted one of these HU's so any info would be great.....

You can't use the cage that comes with the double din radio, you have to get a double din fitting kit (about £40-£50 from most decent car audio stockists).

Edit: like this one I used...

WOW, thanks for that info mate. Had no idea it was So pricey. Does that come with fascia included? Do you have some links to that as I've tried looking through the net but can't find any at all. I thought double din were a standard size.

Scrap that mate found some :-)

It deffinately brings out the potential in the speakers of a Veccy, I had it in my Mondeo and almost blew the crappy speakers to bits.

Yeah sound quality is very noticeable. I had the alpine Ida-x100 in the car before And sold that stereo in November to buy the 2400bt, but funds didn't allow it So was back to the cdr2005. One good thing about it now though I appreciate this one that little bit more.

Edit: Also as well is it not possible to bodge the cage that comes with the head unit, seems a waste not to at least try?
