    Default Bust CDR2006!

The Cd changer wont work all of a sudden on my standard head unit.
It comes up with error on the display and make a hell of a grinding sound.

I've read on this site that there arent any more of these and that they will just fit a reconditioned one if mine cant be fixed?

    Is this right?

Also car isnt 3 years old yet .....whats the chance of them doing this under warranty?

I had my 2005 changed under warranty. However, a word of warning. Mine took ages to come in, so was left without a radio for a couple of weeks. I found this very boring on the long journeys i make everyday.

Luckily, a mate had just upgraded his GFs Corsa from tape to CD so I borrowed that unit.

Yep, took them 6 MONTHS to get a CCR2006 for us....

yes it's a warranty job, but do be prepared for a wait.. oh, and BTW, no tech2 involved on this model of stereo, just hook it out..

In the bin it must go e yi e yi e yi oh.

Never have I ever seen such a pile of poomanger as the units Vx fits as standard, even quotes in the book that anything other than a HMV sourced CD may slip, errr why print that, why not get units with proper vibration dampers and an eye that can read properly.

Also had an awful grinding on my 2006 a while back and could not eject the changer.
When I finally managed to get it out there were 4 CD's in there but only 2 slots were occupied.

Seems to be the CDR2005 in particular that's built to last as well as a paper house in a tornado. The CCR2006 does seem to be a much better built unit from what I've seen. Well mine's still working fine and it's mostly the 2005s that we hear about with problems. (Kids ramming CD's into the same slot into a 2006 obviously excepted! )

my cdr2006 has broken, well the flap that comes down to access the autochanger magazine. one of the small plastic hinges has sheared off therefore the flap is only secure at one side and causes problems when ejecting the magazine. There is a little micro switch at the right hand side that is pressed in to pop out the magazine, but because my flap isn't secure at that side the switch doesn't always get pressed. Don't see how its broken, i'm not heavy handed or anything. Haven't taken it to the dealers becuase i think they wouldn't cover something like that under warranty, probably just blame me. In my opinion it's poor workmanship though.
